With customizable backgrounds and quotes, Memento Mori aims to encourage users to make the most of their time and live in the moment.
The add-on displays a timeline that shows how many weeks of your life you have already consumed and how many are left. By incorporating the concept of "Memento Mori," which means "remember that you must die" in Latin, the program serves as a gentle reminder of the inevitability of death. However, instead of being morbid, it encourages users to seize the day and live life to the fullest.
The countdown is displayed over customizable images, and users can also choose to display inspiring quotes. Additionally, the latest update allows users to add events to the timeline, making it a useful tool for planning and reflecting on important milestones.
Memento Mori New Tab offers various settings for customization, including the ability to choose background images, add/edit quotes and key events, show/hide the title and quotes, and customize text color.
While the current version only supports displaying images using a URL, future iterations plan to allow users to search for Unsplash images directly from the extension and even upload their own images.
